I’m not a huge lord of the rings fan but I figured I’d throw a reference in there for some reason.
I mean… It's kind of relevant. Struggle. Fear. Chasing the unknowable while fighting your apprehension about meeting it. The tale of Lord of the Rings itself has been said to be an allegory for World War II and how its events shaped the worldview of one J.R.R. Tolkien. Chilling circumstances sure to shred anyone's faith in humanity. Which brings me to the title of our new record: Who Will Look After The Dogs? The whole conceit of the record title is to acknowledge the inevitable decline of human civilization - a project in which we are all currently taking part. With that decline inevitable, we’re pressed to ask: but what is going to happen to our beloved wards, our chosen family, our dear charges whom we’ve been tasked with protecting and housing and feeding, once we are flicked into the dark infinity by an uncaring god? Nothing. The dogs will be fine without us. Humans are a scum to be wiped away, and our blessed dogs shall thrive in our absence.
Wow. Stunning. If bullshitting were an olympic sport I’d definitely AT LEAST make it past the qualifying rounds.
